How to securely share server and client log info?

Hi,

How secure is it to share logs generated by the Plex server and clients on this forum? I am no networking expert, reading through the logs I see server and login names, ip adresses and portnumbers and a bunch of information I do not understand.

What can be safely published and what do I need to black out with out impacting the issue analysis? Or is there a procedure to share sensitive info with the right persons to get issues analysed and resolved?

You must absolutely never activate the option ‘Allow Plex Media Server tokens in logs’.

You could search and replace all the other info you deem sensitive, like email address and/or public IP.
If you send logs to a Ninja or Plex employee (only when requested!), you can leave these in though.
