How to set up Live TV & DVR with a seedbox?

Hello,

I have a seedbox and would like to be able to stream and record live tv using an HDHomeRun.
In my local network, there is no plex server.

Is this possible somehow? It seems like it needs to be in the same local network. I do not want to set up a bridged vpn or so due to security concerns.

If this is not possible - could I use a Raspberry Pi as a local plex server and add it to my account?

Thanks in advance

It’s going to need to be on your local network. Even if you did link it to the remote PMS with a VPN, I can’t imagine you’d have a good time. OTA/Cable streams are not exactly lean.

Using a Raspberry Pi specifically, I’m not sure about. That shouldn’t be too hard to search. However, if you did set up a second server locally, you can then just share out the live TV and DVR. Not sure your overall goal, but live TV and DVR can only be shared to home users.

Thanks for your reply.
I guess I will look for some kind of cheap server with a low power usage.

So I can‘t watch from a remote network or my phones internet connection?

Oh, no, you totally can. I mean home users as far as users in your Plex Home.

Sure, thank you.

Do you think, an Intel Atom D525 with 423 Passmark Score will be enough for a minimal linux with a plex server for HD TV without transcoding?

And is it possible to move the video files from this server to my seedbox?
