Hello, i want to use plex only offline. I dont have internet all the time.
I done users to plex server i have link the users to my mi boxes. I see my videos in there.
I am offline ervrything seems ok but when i wait day or two power on my android mi box again and plex tells me no internet not connecting to plex.
Is there some step to set guide how i can work my plex only offline?
If you want an offline installation, I’d take a look at Jellyfin. Not as polished Plex, but very serviceable. It supports unconditional offline use, including user login, which enables you to maintain controls if you don’t want kids to have access to certain libraries.
Supposedly, there is a way to use Plex without any authentication if you never register your server, but I’ve never tried it. And it would mean anyone accessing it would have access to everything.
in Android client set it to allow insecure connections on the local network
if you live alone or are not worried about folks you live with being shady add the Local IP of device to the servers networks allowed without auth
