I don’t understand why the Plex app on my Shield is now continually minimizing the viewing window to the upper left corner of the screen when the end credits begin from a film or tv show. What was the purpose of making this feature mandatory? It’s become extremely annoying to have to grab my remote each time a program ends to enlarge the image back to full screen to be able to read the end credits. Can this feature be turned off? Do the programmers at Plex think that we’re all 11 or 12 year-olds who don’t watch the end credits of a film? I don’t understand who makes these decisions… (???)
Plex have commented in some other threads that they’re working on some customization options for this behavior.
I’m not (12) and I very much enjoy leaving a movie theater when the credits start rolling and doing the same when watching shows/movies on my own setup.
No doubt the feature was introduced with good intention but like many new features devs don’t incorporate it into settings so it can be enabled/disabled.
You can disable it by disabling credit detection for the library or the individual show. But yes we are making client settings so it can be changed at the client level if some want it but others don’t (assuming they were generated)
Your solution worked great for me. It no longer minimizes the window and I’m able to read the credits when I want to. I also have used Plex for many years now and I’m embarrassed to say I thought I knew it really well but you introduced me to the menu of Edit Shows that I didn’t even know existed…
Just wanted to voice my own support for keeping credits detection while also disabling minimizing the video. Nothing like reaching the end of an emotional movie or TV show and the credits don’t even get 1 second of linger. Netflix, Max, etc, all do this and it’s terrible, no chill.
