Migrating a media server

Hi Plexians.

I’ve set up a new media server (NAS device) to replace my old windows media server. I’ve copied all the files across to the new server and I can see the new server in my Plex media player (Roku) along with the old server.
How do I a) transfer the history/continue watching/recently added etc to the new server etc and b) remove the old server from the player?
I’m pretty sure there used to be an option to remove a media server but I can’t seem to find it, I can only test accessiblity.
I’m a bit lazy and only made a brief search of the docs/forum but couldn’t find what I as after in the first 5 min. I also couldn’t find a relevant tag for this question.
Basically wanting to pick up everything (settings/history) from one media server and move it to another.
Any pointers, docs, first hand experience would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew.

As you’re migrating between different platforms, the server might still appear as a separate/new server. In that case you should be able to „retire“ the old one from the list of authorized devices.

If you don’t want to deal with the different ways to store the advanced server settings on different server platforms, you might want to settle with transferring the “watched” state alone.

Copy the various server settings manually. I imagine when going from a PC to a NAS that you might want to disable some of the features which would take weeks to finish on a NAS, like the various analysis features for sonic, series intros, video credit rolls, advertising in TV recordings etc.

Copying the watched state and your ratings works automatically. Just enable the syncing on the old server and let the server run for about a week (online, of course).
Then enable the syncing on your new server as well.
