Then please show me the settings you made under
Settings - Audio
OK, this is looking as it should look like.
I can only assume that what you are seeing in the info screen applies to when PMP itself is decoding DTS audio.
In the case of passthrough that is not the case.
ok. then why do I “not” see “DTS” symbol on my receiver ?
I have no idea, sorry. Perhaps it cannot handle DTS-HD MA but only regular DTS?
anybody who could help on this ?
I still think that PMP should show “setting DTS: true” instead of “setting DTS: false”
why doesn’t it show DTS true when it is selected on settings and the movie has DTS. ?
Are you playing from a remote server?
Could you make a screenshot of this info page?
Could you post a log file of PMP? (fetch it immediately after the playback attempt please) https://support.plex.tv/articles/207338748-plex-media-player-logs/
Please zip it before dragging it into the message compose window here.
Playing it on the local server. Server and PMP are on the same Windows 10 Pc.
Screenshot is as below. (see the DTS setting in the bottom center)
Log files also attached.
PlexMediaPlayer2.7z (13.2 KB)
PlexMediaPlayer1.7z (13.1 KB)

You need to enable Exclusive Mode
I had tried exclusive mode, it did not make any difference. I just tried again, same result.
It looks like you are running Windows. Are you using the latest Intel drivers?
Try tipping on the i key during playback and make a screenshot of that please.
I tried updating drivers now. it says there’s no update.
isn’t it the same screenshot I have provided above ?
No, this one provides more technical detail.
but which “i” key you are referring to ?
I had tried the “i” button on the player and the screenshot was from that.
now I tried the “i” key on the keyboard. it does nothing.
I meant the i key on the keyboard. It is supposed to display debug information.
"I": "host:toggleDebug",
Unless you have created a custom inputmap for your PMP, which is overriding this line. https://support.plex.tv/articles/216459997-create-your-own-inputmap/
Did you set your audio type to ‘optical’?
Did you change the audio synchronization mode?
I’d recommend resetting all PMP settings back to default values.
Fastest way to do that is to delete the file
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Local\PlexMediaPlayer\plexmediaplayer.conf
(while PMP is not running)
You can also move this file out of there, so you can easily restore the settings.
Then do only the basic configuration:
- sign in PMP into your plex account
- change the audio settings to ‘HDMI’ and ‘tick’ the passthrough audio types
Then try again.
