How to uninstall Plex on a botched DSM 6 -> DS918+ 7.1.1 Update

Here is the procedure to follow to migrate your Plex server. Follow it after updating to DSM 7.2.1 or 7.2.2.

The migration can be performed when on DSM 7.1.1 Update 7, but it requires using SSH to access the Synology CLI (to stop, uninstall, etc.). Unless you’ve a specific reason to stay on 7.1.1, update DSM. It makes the Plex migration easier.

Struggling with migration from DSM 6 to DSM7

Please read all of this before proceeding. Synology forced Plex to make a lot of changes for DSM 7. Unfortunately, it is not possible to simply update DSM and have Plex work. The Plex Data Folder is now /PlexMediaServer instead of /Plex. Also, PMS runs under the PlexMediaServer username instead of Plex.
