I was turned onto using https://app.plex.tv/ instead of the one baked into the PMS, but I received a Plex email blast today about new features, none of which is showing up with the app.plex.tv. Can this be updated or do I just have to wait for it to catch up?

The hosted web app is always reflecting the lastest version of Plex Web. There’s no way (or need) to manually update it. What particular features are you missing?
Watchlist and Discovery Credits
Watchlist should be right in your sidebar (by default the 2nd item from the top).
You might have disabled Discover in https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources
With regard to watchlist credits – this should show up in the search (see People section); your local content will only be linked/recognized if your libraries are configured to use the current-generation Plex agents (e.g. Plex Movie and Plex TV Series). Make sure your libraries are configured without Adult Content options enabled.
Under the “Discover” section the only available options are “Disable” or “Disable for managed users”. I can’t see how to “Enable” the options (and I see no mention of credits). That said, after restarting Chrome and https://app.plex.tv it magically started appearing.
As for Watchlist, I saw it on the sidebar, but previously could not find how to add it to the watchlist. After I restarted Chrome it also suddenly became available.
