How to update Plex server?

Hi

What is the best way to update Plex server. I know that somnetimes I got the option to update it automatically. I just clicked update and waited and software updated automatically. But now I am am getting some option that I must update it manually. When I press download I get some file with weird extension. How do I update manually? I am using Plex on Windows

And if I download a file it gets .rpm file. Isnt that Linux file?

Not sure why the auto-update is sending you the wrong file.

Try performing a manual update.

Download the latest Windows version of Plex Media Server from plex.tv (scroll to the bottom of this page, listed under Downloads).

Stop Plex Media Server on your system.

Double click the .exe file you downloaded to install.

I just downloaded the Plex Pass version for Windows. The file name is PlexMediaServer-1.25.3.5409-f11334058-x86.exe.

One of your two Plex servers (“whatbox”?) is indeed running on a Linux OS, so I assume you’re getting the right file.

Aha Otto yes that was a Plex from my seedbox. Couldn’t figure it out. Now I updated it ok. I got another problem. I have problems with Plex on my Ipad. It works on my Iphone ok but kind of having prolems with it on my Ipad. Its a little older Ipad but I managed to install Plex on it. But it shows like my both servers are offline. Any idea what could be done and what could be the problem?

Sorry, I have no fruity hardware myself.
Here is my theory though: If the iOS on these devices is already out of the support window, it is most likely that the cryptographic root certificates in these OS versions are expired/invalid and therefore no communication with plex.tv can be established.
