I am starting to use a music library for a few music videos. I have one folder set up with this structure and plex does not recognize it. I cannot figure what I am doing wrong with the nomenclature. The name of the Celtic Woman video is Celtic Woman; that is why it looks like it is listed twice; if it was another name for the video I would have put it down in the second Celtic Woman line. There are only two videos of this, the actual concert (-video) and some interviews with the artists (-behindthescenes). What am I doing wrong?
Are those part of an album called Celtic Woman or videos you want to see on the artist level?
If they’re part of an album, Plex will only pick the files up as local extras if it also has at least one song of that album.
If the files should be listed in the artist level, best to keep them directly in the artist folder (you’ve currently added them as a same-named subfolder).
The main video is a concert with multiple songs. The second video is an interview with the female artists. There is no list of songs segmented on the main video that are listed like a ripped cd has.
Since you are asking about video files, the topic here is not really “Music library”.
If it’s video files, like concert videos and associated extras, you are dealing with a “video” library.
The hierarchy and organization of a “music” library doesn’t apply to these in Plex. So there will definitely be no organization structure like Artist → Album/Concert → Tracks
Maybe look at this thread to get an idea what can be done for concert videos and such: [HowTo] Media file prep for Concerts or similar music-related videos in Plex
