I was hoping to use the remote control feature but other players never show up. Only the current device on all iOS devices. Is this a limitation of iOS?
I wish to control the video on iPad with my iPhone. I’ve check that both have “Advertise as player” option enabled. I’ve tried disabling and enabling. And they’re on same network with both apps open at same time.
Any trouble shooting steps I can take would be appreciated. Has anyone else ever been able to do this?
Also trying to do the same on Mac PC ie control using iPad or iPhone on Mac.
Yes, and I just tested again to ensure it still works. If you haven’t already, ensure that both the iPad and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. I’m pretty sure they won’t see the other as a player if on different (cell) networks. At least it didn’t in my case.
It will not work over cell. You definitely need to be on the same network; you may or may not need to also have bluetooth enabled… (which may be more of an iOS thing than a Plex thing).
