I have Plex running on my aTV3 and there I almost only use the "by Folder" view in order to get a list of all movies within folder(s).
I want to do the same on the RPI (using RasPlex) but cannot find such a view.
My question: how can I do that????

As far as I know there is no "by Folder" viewmode or filter implemented for the "Plex Home Theater" client.I have Plex running on my aTV3 and there I almost only use the "by Folder" view in order to get a list of all movies within folder(s).

Thx for the info. I never understood the difference between Plex and PHT. On my aTV3 there is a "bij folder" view which it very good to use.
I will check into other skins.
Actually - i've been looking into this and found a way to make it work - if the section is setup as "Tv shows" i can't make - view as folder work - but if it set it up as "Home Video" i can - On RasPlex !
This is true, but that method is very limited in its usefulness, as it means losing all meta-data, or having to enter it by hand.Actually - i've been looking into this and found a way to make it work - if the section is setup as "Tv shows" i can't make - view as folder work - but if it set it up as "Home Video" i can - On RasPlex !
True ....
I've made 2 sections
1 with the series scanner - Tv-series-series
1 with the Home Video scanner - Tv-series-single
Both pointing to the same directory - this way i can' access ALL media one way or another - not the perfect way - but i don't have to leave the couch :-)
Until better solutions is served my way ;-)
I’ve been using MCE since 2000, and I’ve now switched to Rasplex.
I find rasplex brilliant….what do I miss from MCE….
I have many videos, and viewing these as one big library is not ideal. In MCE the fact that you could view movies as they are organised on the server (by folder) just made things easier. Especially for boxsets and series. This is a MUST feature….please
Why not create a separate library per folder ?
Why not create a separate library per folder ?
That is not a solution because it would mean hundreds of folders.
I have it organized by folder. Each folder is (like a) category. Within those folders there are (stand-alone) movies but also folders depicting collections. looks a bit like TV-series are organized.
In XBMC this is no problem (Infuse on aTV also no problem). I have Plex running on my iMac, no problem. But the moment I want to use Plex on aTV (or Raspberry) there is the problem of no folder view.
I know the lack of this feature is now a problem over many years. Why not solve it, should be easy.

You got it buddy!
It seems like such an easy fix, yet nobody seems to pick this up

Put in a request for this feature for Plex HT in the Feature Request sub forum, if it ever happens there it will filter down into Rasplex.
Regards.
Thoroughly checked the Plex site and this forum but I find nowhere a place tu submit feature requests.
Also it is not only about the RPI but same I see on aTV and what wonders me most is that on my Mac I have 2 versions of Plex (no idea where I got them but must be here) one that has this folder look and one that has not. So somebody solved it.

I'm sorry but cannot find a "Plex section" on the forum or o the site. Can you give an URL?

You do not have permission to view this forum.
Well it seems that I, as a mere simple user, have no permission to even view that section. Only for the privileged?

I did say in my earlier response it was Plex Pass.

I understand that means I have to subscribe in order to be able to ask for improvements?
This is the first product that I encounter (> 15 years of Mac experience, Win experience since '90) where I have to get a paid subscription only and just to be able to do suggestions. I am certainly not going to do that. It is not worth in view of the usage of Plex. I need no Plex Pass products, early bird or whatever.
Plex is a follow up of XBMC and the latter has no such requirements.
Bit of a disappointment and loss of my time spent on this thread.

So... i have tried a lot of skin... none include the By Folder view in Plex Home Theater (PHT)
Any update on this ??
