As in the title: Live TV works just fine in the web app, but not in the Windows media player app.
It also works perfectly fine on an android tablet with the Plex app installed.
The issue seems to be with the Pley Media Player on Windows.
Any idea what could cause this?
Use a supported desktop app.
Plex Media Player hasn’t been updated for two years and was officially discontinued / replaced by Plex HTPC a few weeks ago. The Plex for Windows desktop app should also do the job.
Ok, so I use the Windows app that is available from the downloads section currently. It says last updated in June 2022. So perhaps I used the wrong term.
I may however try the HTPC version.
If you’re having trouble with the current apps, please include some details on how exactly they aren’t working for you.
So, just tried the Plex HTPC and also there it doesn’t work.
In the Plex for Windows app it says “This live tv session has ended”.
In Plex HTPC it says “Recording failed. Please check your tuner or antenna.”
The EPG works just fine. It’s just when I actually select a channel to watch the program it shows these errors. As mentioned, only in both apps for windows. Via browser everything works perfectly fine.
Try to disable “Direct Stream”

That did the trick. I can now start a live tv stream. However, when switching channels it says “Channel couldn’t be set”.
Might be another issue how to change channels now. Initial issue seems to be resolved though. Thank you.
