HRTunerProxy 4.0 - Plex will not tune

WHY(!) did the Plex team remove old API support against HDHomeRun tuners so Plex don’t work with HRTunerProxy?

I have tried to get the HRTunerProxy team to update so it can communicate with Plex again. This is the answer:

Please get back the old API support!

I don’t want to intervene in your case, but HRTunerProxy principally still works with my Uno4K SE.

What version of Plex server are you running?

Is it on CentOS?

No, Shield as posted above:

The only thing I witnessed is, that I have to input IP:Port of the Vu myself, beacuse Plex does not find it automatically anymore.

Also I put IP and port for selecting the tuner and it find the tuner then. Download the channel list (I use EPG from xmltv file - Loadig and showing EPG) but it will not tune to channel.

Testet with bothe OpnePLi and VTI image on VU+ Solo2.

Because of that it will not record.

Then it is some issue…

Did you read in “your” xmltv thread, that I also have problems tuning channels with your generated xmltv but NOT when I select the regular gracenote EPG? There seems to be an issue with the xmltv file.

OK…!!

Thanks, How do you get “gracenote EPG” is it an xml file (xmltv.xml)?

If it is, can I get a copy so I can debug?

It is the EPG that Plex supplies. So instead of choosing xmltv when adding the tuner, put in your country, postal code and cable provider, then work your way through the hard-to-understand channel listing to pair the respective channels to yours from the engima2 bouquet. If you mastered that part, the rest is done “automatically”, meaning the EPG is fetched during server maintence.

Thanks again.

Your welcome.

Hi again Coxeroni

You wrote “HRTunerProxy principally still works” - Do you have som issues that are problems?

Not that I know of, but I’m really not using it often. As an example, I couldn’t find some of the SD variants of my channels, which I added separately to the HD channels. But this is not severe for me and is an issue of the channel listing of the EPG and not one of HRTunerProxy.

Thanks again…

Glad I could help.

It looks like I found the problem.

Before I make it official, I will do some more testing when I get back home. Not all testing are good by VNC to my server.

By doing some change in xmltv.xml file, it looks like it works. I will remove one change a time until it not works anymore, then I will add only the last one for test.

Then I will do a review of my script once more before doing it public. It looks like I have blamed Plex team by mistake, but that’s not there faults. It is not enough information about what that has to be in the xmltv.xml file. And other people that I have information from also claimed the Plex team for changing the API.

To PLEX team: I’m really sorry!

I really hope for more information what to have to be in the xmltv.xml file, or easier way to find the information.

A special thanks to Coxeroni for information about build in EPG. By testing it I got the idea I tested out and looks like it solved my problem.

Before, I didn’t tested that EPG function because I saw it’s missing several channels. Then I thought it wasn’t useful for me.

Sorry for bad English……

Kudos to you for recognising your mistakes and apologising for it, requires character to do so

Still it is not so severe and I guess little people felt offended if at all.

I have not tested. Also on a new test server and has som information.

This is the top of the old xmltv.xml and new xmltv.xml file.

Old xmltv.xml:
Old

New xmltv.xml (minimum data):
new

Then display-name with only channel number has to be included.

Now tuning channels works.

I has to say that script has only been testet on CentOS.

Scoll down on https://forums.plex.tv/t/epg-to-xml-from-enigma2/ for new script.
