HTPC stopped playing files

Plex HTPC and Plex server is on the same PC.

Weird thing with playback, Plex HTPC has trouble playing files that the old Media Player didn’t have trouble with.
The most common proble, and the one I can replicate, is that audio keeps playing while the video freezes.
When I try to play the troublesome file outside of Plex HTPC, i.e. in MPC, it works just fine.
So the only thing to change, that I know of, is that I switched from Plex Media Player to Plex HTPC.

Any suggestions?
