Http://192.168.0.32:32400 cant find server

What type of computer do you have? Windows or Mac?

windows. Windows 10

Get Putty

Install it

Here is an excellent walk through to get to the command line.

ok, I will do that tonight, cant now and then? Can you walk me through those steps?

And what is Putty? Software?

Yes. Putty is a program (software) which provides a remote terminal (not desktop) capability not built into Windows. The common name is ssh and is built natively into all linux and mac machines.

Ok, so that will be better than using port forwarding…

Moderator Edit: Unnecessary copy/paste from NAS HTML removed

my remote server in WD is off, so is port forwarding

I found the setting to enable it.

Settings - Network - SSH Service - ENABLE

We have all the services enabled because our lab is a closed environment.

ok, i did that and now?

Now go back up and, following the step-by-step of “How to Set Up an SSH Tunnel with PuTTY”

When it connects, you will log into the NAS.

When successful, you will be at a command line prompt like I have shown above.

ok, so I still need to get putty?

Yes. go to google, search for it, download and install.

Ok.
here is what I have found out. Xfinity has some log timeouts, which cause issues with media servers.

The work around is changing router settings to allow, direct and/or port forwarding. Putty is one of the helpful answers as ChuckPA indicated, but it takes a lot of work.

I had mine resolved from a very capable level two tech from Western Digital, so cudos to WD and their time and effort.

Chiming in here as well, I’m experiencing the exact same issues, already posted in two other threads, so I have a hunch that it might not be us.

I already have an SSH connection and run your command. This is the result (just removed my username with <me>)

I also checked:

  • Upnp, set up manual portforwarding
  • Followed every recommendation, uninstall, reinstall, update, removed Preferences.xml …
  • External access works with dyndns and external IP, there’s an issue with the internal access though, cannot access by internal IP nor by bonjour name (which is very puzzling)
  • All other applications and services seem to run just fine
  • Happened some days ago, I did not update or install anything (maybe there was an automatic update of the synology server, not sure)

I would guess that it’s either an issue with Synology and they messed something up - or you changed something on the Plex side of things? Or we’re all using AVM FritzBoxes and they messed something up?

same problem.

Using FritzBox as well.

so using windows PMS and it appears my server is also having this issue. I can not access the dashboard or the settings just says server ‘undefined’ is not found. Its still working on devices to access content but if I attempt to manage the server … get nothing. calls it ‘undefined’

Now PLEX, I cant find my server…what is going on?

Same here. 6 weeks with this problem. Tried everything. Nothing works.

Still having the same issue here. I can connect to my server using the web app, but not the IP address.
