Hub on AppleTV is broken since update

After starting the AppleTV App of Plex today the hub seems broken. After continue watching and on deck, instead of having one row for all recently added movies and one row for all recently added tv shows, with the latest added on top I am having multiple rows for every section separately in a static order. Why?
That makes the hub next to unusable for me. Instead of watching a TV Show on this sunday evening I am digging into this. Again, why?

So now I go to edit homescreen and i see “Automagic” and I audible sigh.
So my choices are now to unpin stuff from my sidebar or try to manually do that. Unpinning makes the hub more useable but removes the usefuleness of the sidebar. Ordering seems to be static corresponding to the sidebar ordering. That seems like a regression.
So manual it is.

I see TV 3 or 4 times even though only having 2 tv sections. Same with movies. I see music and photos even though not having those sections. I see a video, no idea what that is.
tested around a bit. Recently added Videos does nothing. Tried automagic again, reordered my sidebar, tried manual again. TV Shows are missing now. sigh again

Order is messed up even more than when we started. We have continue watching twice now. Once on top, once in the middle.

In the home eddit screen i have 6 items with "Recently Added TV * [server owner name], even though there are only 2 tv sections. No way of identifying which tv section this is. Same with movies, same with photos etc even though there isn’t even a photo section.
All together there are 31! Recently Added items there, even though the server hast 5 sections.

Put all the recently added video on top (via edit hub order) of the hub to see what that does, left the rest default.
There is no video above continue watching but it made all movie sections disappear from the hub plus all but one tv show section.
After entering edit hub order again, all duplicate recently added video entires have disappeared, same with all the other duplicate items. While there is still a recently added movie item, movies do not appear on the hub anymore.

This is completely broken.

How can I get the old behaviour back?
How is stuff like that not caught by QA, thats the first thing you see when you start the app?

Are others having similar issues or is something wrong with my app here?

Edit:
Double checked with the web version, It seems the automagic thing is there as well but there it seems to work, all the tv sections are gathered together in one row, same for the movie sections. No duplicate items in the edit screen.

Edit2: found a small bug in the webplayer ordering stuff as well, if you swich to manual ordering, no recent playlists item appears anywhere, but that’s another issue.

Played around with it a bit more

If i reorder the Homescreen and put the third “recently added tv” on the very top of the list everything but playlists disappears on the hub.

Exact same problem for me on Apple TV. I now need to search for recent items and new shows I want to watch. Web version looks fine. Seems no matter how I order the Home Screen rows, nothing “sticks”. I have on deck and continue watching - which is fine, then “recently added movies” which show only 2 movies added about 4 years ago (it used to show recent movies). Then “recent channels live tv and Dvr “ which has never appeared before, but since it’s not a “hub”, it doesn’t show up when I try to manage my Home Screen. I guess I’ll keep messing with it

Just an update for anyone following.
Decided to reinstall Plex app on Apple TV. It did not help

As mentioned, hubs are all out of order and manual edit of home screen gives me an order I don’t even want (continue watching, on deck, recent channels, recent playlists) my movies and shows eventually appear at later in the list near bottom.

What worked for me was to disable manual and let plex automatically order my home page and then I re-order the sidebar to what I want. This can be limiting depending on how you want things organized, but for me it was the only way to get recent tv shows and recent movies to show up after On Deck.

I did the same thing. Unfortunately I have 3 movie section and therefor now 3 rows of recently added movies instead of one, which makes it basically useless given how big the rows are on the TV.

What bugs me more though is the lack of response from the team.

It’s happening to me too on the Apple TV app and the app on my iPhone too.
Spoke to my friend and he has it on his iPhone app too.
Looks to definitely be an issue with the Apple apps.

having the same problems here as the OP the entire system is a mess now eapecially when you have many categories of pinned items in the bar if this doesnt become an option that can be disabled then i shall seriously have to look at some plex alternative that supports live tv
The WAF factor is rapidly decreasing now because of this too then add of the auto jumping to top bug thats been about for months its turning into a right s***show

Again, the frustrating thing here is not the bug, bugs happen, bugs get fixed once they surface.

The frustrating thing here is the lack of response from Plex, the lack of a ticket system, the lack of a proper way to report bugs, the lack of a way to get in touch with the company one pays money to.

What now? Will this bug be there forever? for month? for years? Is it known already?
Is this going to get fixed? Yes/No?

That is quite a verbose report. Can you try and simplify that, and give a dot point list of the behaviour you’re seeing, along with the exact app version, and server version you’re using?

The App Version and PMS Version are the very first lines of the whole post, literally.

If you can guarantee that this is not getting ignored again, i can write up a simplified list later today, but i am not gonna invest more of my free time for it to not get at least acknowledged again, because this is very frustrating.

I’m having the same experience on my ATV 4k as described in the op.

3rd Gen ATV is still working fine though.

Both Plex apps are v7.11 22422

Edit: It seems I also have the same issue on my mobile iOS devices (v7.11 also)
