I’ve heard from friends that there’s a promotion going on from Plex, as they’ve recently received a discount of 50% off of Plex Pass Lifetime. Ever since learning about Plex about a year ago, I started to plan to build a media server. Coincidentally I’m finally on the verge this upcoming week to proceed to build and install Plex on it. I didn’t know Plex would offer discounts exclusively to registered users; if I did, I would’ve registered when I started planning last year (kicks himself).
Would it still be possible for me to be part of the promotion round now that I’ve registered?
Also, is the discount for only 1 Plex Pass Lifetime per 1 registered user? I’d like to convince my other household members to purchase Plex as well (for when I move out of the house in about 5 years, and they can’t rely on my Plex Pass license as a result), but it’s difficult to convince them to spend 150€ per person when they’re already using mine.
It’s a completely random thing that gets offered to a completely random group of people every now and then. Sometimes it goes to monthly/yearly plexpass users, sometimes to non-plexpass users.
What about Plex Pass Lifetime users? Will they still get the discount for another license, and can then purchase a discounted license to give as a gift?
I have just discovered Plex and am completely amazed at it’s capability. I would love to buy a lifetime pass but I am a 76 year old retiree living on a meager income. I could manage it if you were to offer a senior citizen’s discount to me. I am sure there are probably others like me who would also welcome that possibility. Is there any possibility of this happening or am I simply dreaming?

Waiting for “specials” or “discounts” to get a Plex Pass is like trying to pick highs andlow in the commodities markets: “In any market the “bulls” can make money and the “bears” can make money and the “hogs” get slaughtered.”
It is best just to make the purchase once you decide it is a good idea for you.
@sa2000 Any idea on how long the discount will last? I want to do a giveaway, so I would like to know how long I can run it for before the price goes back up.
We don’t have specifics to share as to when the current discount offer might end. It’s available for a “limited time”. If you’re interested in taking advantage of the discount, we encourage you to do so sooner rather than later.
To add. You can buy the gift now without specifying the recipient. You can add that later. Or after the purchase, you can download a nice PDF of the gift voucher that you can just give to the recipient at any time.
