Do I sense that other than Nvidia Shied and the new WD NAS support others will follow? One hopes QNAP and other NAS’s will be supported (if QNAP, hope all CPU’s and GPU’s supported, AMD and Intel). Thanks for the great work.
Not sure if this would help or be needed, but 64bit and specific GPU optimized versions of the server would also be a plus if they can take advantage of more memory or make data transfer or transcode happen more efficiently.
Synology also has the 216+ model which supports hardware transcoding, hopefully its supported soon
I sense there is some major change going on with Plex, all for the better. I think they are supporting HW transcoding but it’s specific to hardware for now. Marketing partnerships are going to limit this to those that team up with Plex. For now Nvidia Shield and WD. I assume others will join soon. I like this a lot, please move to QNAP next
