Not sure if I should post this to thread with similar title, so here is new one with same problem. I have Android LG V20 with Plex app installed. From a web browser I see the Program Guide, but it does not show at all on Android app. I do not see any of these options on Android app.
yes it is a different OS , Android TV would be the android equivalent of TVOS on apple tv , Android like your phone would be the equivalent of IOS like an ipad or iphone. Android is said to be coming but was not a part of the initial launch announcement. Your phone is Android, not Android tv. Android tv is what is run on the NVIDIA shield and a few other set top TV Boxes.
If you want to watch live tv setup an emby server…it just flat out works and works well.
Even works on a cell network and works well.
I have been running an emby server for live tv for months and a plex server for dvr… and if the dvr issues do not get resolved in plex I will go try the emby dvr server again ( it failed miserably a year plus ago )
The hype for Plex TV is that you can watch it anywhere. If you have ‘Android TV’, you are at home (its not a mobile device). So why support? Or more closely, why support it before an Android mobile device?
@thecajun perhaps because users would like to watch Live TV without running a cable from an antenna to all of their TV’s. From what I understand there are more users using iOS and Android TV with Plex than other platforms so they added support for those two platforms first. Others will be coming.
