I signed up for plex many years ago to access a friend’s media server. That server is long and dead but I created a new Plex account recently and now It’s still tied to his server and he’s the admin. I can’t create new users or anything.
How do I disassociate from his account and make my plex account the admin
It appears your friend had added you to their Plex Home (hence the option to switch users). If you want to run your own server that won’t do… so you’ll need to leave their “home”
That being said… if you had created a new Plex account that won’t be linked to the friend’s Plex Home. If you’re still getting this option you probably need to sign-out from your account or clear your browser’s cache…
yeah I left their server but when I log in I still get this screen.
It kinda sucks but you might be right and I’ll just have to create a new account. I wish I could use this one tho.
You don’t have to – I was just referring to your point that you had already created one.
Use the guide linked above to leave their home and be free to proceed as you like.
