I’m trying to record the CBS series Instinct. It shows in the Recording Schedule, and the Program Guide. However, sometime before recording time, the current episode drops out of the Program Guide and also out of the Recording Schedule. The next weeks episode remains in the Program Guide and Recording Schedule. This has happened the last two weeks.
I refreshed the Program Guide after the seeing the episode was missing. After refresh the episode was still missing.
Check the settings you’re using for the series. I had problems when I tried restricting to HD only, restricting to a specific channel, and then not allowing partial airings. I had to pretty much put everything back to defaults to get a few shows to record.
The problem is not with the recording. The problem is with the Program Guide. The Program is there days before the airing, and is tagged for recording. At some point the Program is dropped from the Guide. The Guide continues to show the next weeks show, but not this weeks.
So, you’ve witnessed the program disappearing from the guide at some significant time prior to the recording time? Have you -literally- looked at your system just prior to the recording start time to verify that it’s actually gone?
If you haven’t, try what I suggested.
Yes, I have witnessed the program disappearing from the guide. On morning of Sunday 3-25, the program was listed and set to record. By early afternoon, the program listing for that show was gone, future shows were still listed. Other show for the same day were still listed & were recorded, both on the same tv station.
There are lots of similar threads to this with people reporting the same thing. This is a bug in Plex or the EPG provider.
