I’ve just bought a new Samsung TV and I can’t install the Plex app, I press the Install button but after 20 seconds or so the button returns to Install. A counter shows up in front of the Plex icon but it never passes zero
I have the same problem with a Samsung Q90T 65 inch. Exact same thing happens – clicking install doesn’t seem to do anything for a few seconds, and then goes back to “install”…
Seems it’s a Samsung thing. Called support and told me to reset the TV (unplug it from mains and replug it again)
I assume that didn’t help, did it?
It did actually. I found it wasn’t a Plex issue because I couldn’t install any app from the Samsung store
Huh, this solved the issue for me! I was able to download the Plex app normally after I plugged/unplugged the TV… I guess turning on and off the TV wasn’t good enough shrugs
Haha glad it was helpful. Seems like new Samsung TVs don’t turn off completely but they stay in a standby mode permanently. That’s why they turn on so fast
I have a new Samsung Q850T tv and I can’t install either. I have tried the actual unplugging from a power source and then replugging it back into the power and starting the tv. I click on the Plex app to install but it goes back to cancel after about 30 seconds or so. Any other suggestions?
Try installing other apps, if they won’t install either, contact Samsung support
Contacted Samsung support. They had me do a soft reset of the tv by holding down on the power button for 5 seconds and it did a soft reset and then my apps were able to be installed.
