Server Version#: 1.40.3.8555
Player Version#:10.16.1.842
I have recently upgraded to Windows 11 and I now can’t connect either from my SKYBOX (New Zealand) or my android phone.
When turning on debug I found errors that the connections were insecure and couldn’t be connected.
So I changed both the Plex web, on the devices, and on Plex media server to allow non-secure connections but still no luck.
I no longer get the errors in the debug log but still can’t connect.
I have been using PLEX for a long time and haven’t encountered this before.
All my devises are on the same network.
Did you upgrade Windows on top of an existing Plex installation? i.e. on the same machine?
And if so, did you select “keep my data” during the installation?
Verify that the network connection in Windows is classified as “private”. It must not be “public”.
That means that your Plex server data may not have survived. While you certainly still have the actual media files, all the playback data, metadata and manual corrections you may have made, are gone.
Is there any Plex client which allows you to still access your plex libraries?
No unfortunately there isn’t a Plex client that can access the libraries.
I think this is the first time I have upgraded the Windows version since I have been using Plex.
Shall I delete the server and reinstall and then reinstall the web clients?
Cheers Kevin
P.S: when assessing whether you have access to the server, don’t judge by the side bar in its default state, nor by the home page.
Always switch the side bar into the MORE... mode. Only then look for the server name and its libraries in the side bar.
