Poster Icons are much larger, there’s less movies in a row. This is bad because I have to click more to see more content.
When I scrub through a movie, there’s a huge gradient that takes up half the screen. It’s annoying to see that gradient overlay, especially when the movie is playing and it takes a couple of seconds for that gradient to disappear.
Is there any way to revert to the old interface or change the poster size? This one is flawed.
I believe from the avatar in left menu, you will find a opt out option.
Can you document your TV model as my 65"OLED I find no issue?
Are you sure you have it in Library view and not Recommended, these are found at top of screen as these have residual memory. Meaning when you exit in Library view it will become the default. It is unfortunate that recommended is the default view on install.
I find this update amazing and when you custom setup it menu’s, it far superior. Pin and reorder.
The speed of the app once loaded is impressive and now there is support for the Magic mouse, improved file compatibility. Do remember to update the settings at the bottom of left menu to reflect to new UI.
Before discarding a change, explore all options and update the settings required, I believe it will impress in a short time.
Thanks! I didn’t realize I was in the early access mode of Plex, with the new interface. I just reverted back to the older Plex interface. Now that I’m back, I see that the number of posters in a row are the same, however, it seems like the text is larger. It is taking more clicks to scroll down to see text. Also when seeing the movie information, it’s not all on one screen, you have to scroll down to see all the information. Bad design!
I don’t like how early access enlarges the poster you currently are selected on. I think just highlighting it with a yellow border is fine. I find that it’s enlarging the poster too much.
Also the text and spacing seems larger. And I absolutely hate the gradient overly that comes on when you fast forward or seek to another part of a movie. Gradients are a very old school design.
Maybe the implementation is better, but the UI needs some work. Keep the old UI, or give people an option.
I got this pushed on me and currently hate it as well.
Where is the stop button? Can’t seem to access the ff and fw buttons.
Less on screen thanks to the enlarged photos.
Don’t seem to be getting the automatic next item in series.
A LOT more buffering, especially at the start of every item.
I am still indifferent about the new change.
I like some of it and others not yet, but as with any software and UI changes, this is a good base for them to continue from.
I had some issues getting it to open up properly after the change, but after that it’s been good.
On my 65" OLED:
The performance in general is much better
The pinning on the side seems better
library views are improved.
playback menu seems simplified and I’m not missing any controls there either.
So for me it seems an improvement. They can definitely grow from here. Just my 2cents…
Not a fan of the gradient, but otherwise don’t mind the new UI. I like the skip feature. everything else I’m still getting used to. Everything I use seems to work as expected.
