LG webOS Plex 3.60.1 ... Who gave you the courage to release this garbage?

I have seen tons of post disscusing the direct streaming problem, the missing webos config file, Plex did nothing to fix

this ridiculous “update” hurt my feeling a lot

  1. the design is like a joke on 50+ inch TV, my webos is NOT fxxking ANDROID !!!
  2. some one forgot there’s a wheel on LG remote??
  3. slow, fxxking slow
  4. who needs those bloody bigger-than-poster faces on the UI !!!
  5. where is my playlist?

you plex guys should seriously begin to consider a rollback, or I will delete this rubbish, cancel my plex pass without any hesitation

Hmmm, since this update, my iPad didn’t find the LG TV. Any ideas or a bug?

Mine doesn’t even work. Just the menu items and a greyness. And you say lg remote has a wheel… Mine doesn’t… Just buttons on mine.

A shame I can’t watch my stuff :frowning:

I had to signup for the forum just to comment on this. This is too bad to be true, I was hoping some weird sh*t had happened to my tv before I googled to check if other people were complaining.
Every complaint is true and deserved: the new interface is ABSOLUT RUBISH. And no, it’s not that people aren’t keen to change – the truth is that most serious and demanding users (who love plex) don’t put up with such downgrade. I have my doubts this interface would have any success in late 90’s. And it’s painfully slow, unresponsive, design-wise purely disgusting (type, grid, organization, background, actor’s portraits), and there’s people even complaining about crashes. To be absolutely honest, crashes were the only thing I didn’t experience as I couldn’t hold on much longer looking at this crap. And to think I recommended Plex to virtually everyone I know…

I’ve got the following LG TVs, and both of them updated their WebOS yesterday…#$%^@#

LG60UH652V (web OS 05.30.20 with Plex 3.60.1)
and
LG49UK6400PCV (web OS 03.00.83 with Plex 3.60.1)

This is what the new interface looks like (without Magic Remote support)

As you can see from the screenshot, Recently Added TV is only showing part of the title … and I cannot change the size of the album art… It just SUX

Just bring back support for the Magic Remote and I’ll be reasonably happy … surely that’s not a hard thing to do??

Just scroll down and you can see all of it. Plex scrolls down with the new UI instead of to the right.

Does the magic pointer show up in the app when you use the scroller on the remote? I’ve tested with a few LG models, but haven’t had this problem.

Absolutely broken for me. Nothing plays. Gives an H4 codec error. Also, does not establish direct connection to server on LAN. I’ll mess with it more later but I’m dumbfounded how they allowed this to be forced on everyone when it’s so clearly not ready.

when you scroll the wheel on the homepage, the whole page does NOT roll down a pixel

scroller down = page rolling down, that is a common sense

the update is terrible,

  1. I have a few movie libraries (i.e. UHD / HD) and it now ONLY showing me the first UHD library while the only way to access the other library is to manually search for a title.

  2. the scroll wheel on my remote is no longer working (yes I have the magic remote) but can’t scroll (!)

Please fix this at leat or let us roll back to the old version for now

Couldn’t agree more with the comments. The “update” to my LG Plex is terrible. Confusing navigation, convoluted media management that jumbled together several of my servers… absolutely the worst update I’ve seen. I haven’t seen any response from Plex? Where are they?

I also agree. It’s a shame. I was getting a fan of Plex but not nothing works with ne new update. I cant play anything :frowning:

Yep.
Plex have adopted the policy of stupidly oversized tiles. It’s a WIP to bring it to every client.
It originated with tvOS I think. Sadly the implementation there works, because plenty of thought went into it Unlike every other client.

so I found the libraries by clicking on the ‘movie’ icon then ‘down’ on my remote which then shows all libraries, the scrolling however still doesn’t work

Still, this is a terrible UX upgrade, the actor titles are 2x-3x then the actual movie itself. Not sure what Plex folks were thinking here.

I’ve had the same issues.

I’m having similar problems to what everyone is describing. I’ve also found that some of my 4K videos will no longer play with out buffering constantly. They worked perfectly on the previous version. PLEASE ROLL THIS BACK PLEX!

I have the same problem with my LG webOS3.x, the UI on plex turned into this amazing useless piece of C%#P last night.
I thought I had done something to make it happend and tried to fix it last night, but to no use!!.
And the functionality of the UI is absolutely useless and not in any possible way user friendly, and what’s up whit the giant sized posters??? Please tell me that it’s possible to resize them!!!
OH, and try to disable “include in dashboard” and see what happends :rofl:!!
But come on, this have to be a bad joke from plex side!!! Please say it is so!!!
So is this the UI we have to live with in the future??? :frowning:

This ridiculous new UI is coming to all Plex clients. Its already on many and it is just the worst user interface I have ever seen. I don’t know what genius decided to ruin Plex but he/she is doing a great job.

Just to clarify, does the magic pointer not show up at all on your LG TVs? Or is it just an issue with the scroller not working?
