I have now found out to get music into Plex, but I cannor get movies in.

I have copied the files on a DVD to the library Movies on my windoes PC, and it plays allright on the computer. I have let Plex import the files to the library Movies in Plex, but Plex will not play it. Plex says: something about M3U8 and “No levels to play”, Can somone help me?

Simply copying the files from a Video-DVD won’t do.

  • Get yourself Makemkv.
  • ‘Rip’ your DVD with Makemkv
  • name the resulting .mkv file according to Plex’s naming guidelines for movies Official Title Of Movie (year).mkv
  • copy the properly named file into your movie folder
  • update your Plex movie library, if it doesn’t update automatically
