I have under 100 shared users and I am receiving a limit exceeded message

I am unable to add/invite users to my Plex server. I have well under the limit (100 shared users), yet I am receiving a message that I have exceeded the maximim share limit. Please help. Thanks.

It’s the 85+14+1* limit rule but MAX: 100. Members of a Plex Home are counted as part of the total number of shares so it’s a combination of shared users/plex home/manage users/and admin(you)

When all limits are MAXED!
85 Shared Users.
14 Plex Home Users (0MIN/14MAX).
1* Admin User(That's you, always) for Plex Home (1MIN/1MAX when enabled)

Or any combination of…

You got anyone in your PlexHome?

No one. I have a total of 86 shared users + 1 (self)

Well that does sound like plex is compensating for the possibility you may enable your plex home. That or a glitch in plexverse.

I don’t plan to enable my Plex home just want to add or invite users manually when necessary. Should I remove additional users or that wouldn’t help?

I am running the most current server version as well.

True that but plex does not know/care about such trivial things. I bet(no $$$ though) the idea was to always give you available slots to do so. After all, it is one of the main feature of paid members. Would it not suck to find out you can’t add anyone to your PlexHome cause you got to many shared people…

Oh yeah… You got dead users then yes, remove them from your list. Theres no need for them to stay.I clean house every year or so.

So you think 86+1 is still over the threshold? If so then I guess I have to delete more users. Smh. I am a Plex Pass Member and my account is current obviously. I also removed any null or previous servers I had saved as an authorized device. Do you have any suggestions?

I wouldn’t think so but it seems to be. Though the +1 for you should not count if you haven’t enabled PlexHome cause you arern’t sharing your main admin with yourself. So you should be at 86, which seems weird because that only leaves 13 for PlexHome(+1 for admin)=14.

It’s not exclusive to plex pass holders. The “100” user limit is for everyone.

No… Just double check the amount of users you have.

just counted all shared users 88 in total (myself included). Smh
