Hi,
I have downloaded the Plex app for PS4, and whenever I open the app, it just says:
“Sorry, there appears to be a problem connecting. Please try again later.”
I have tried for 2 days.
The PS4 has the correct network, the “ps4 media player app” can “see” the plex media server, all the other plex apps in the house work - its only the PS4 that cant.
Am I missing something blindingly obvious?
Still no luck - My amazon firestick works just fine. This PS4 app does nothing - just gives me the error I mentioned in the first post.
Any other ideas?
I dont even get to settings
When I start the app, I get the plex logo, then a black screen, then the error “Sorry, there appears to be a problem connecting. Please try again later”, to which I am allowed to press “x”, which I do, then it repeats the error, to which I press x again, and then it will just sit there with a black screen indefinitely, until I I close the app via the PS button.
hi, one of the devs is telling me that that error message is not an app error message. it must be part of the PS4. Can you take a screenshot of it.
just to be sure since i did not think to ask before. it is connected to the internet and do you have any type of router firewalls or such on your network
@BigWheel It is connected to the internet yes, and there are firewalls and routers on the network, but the PS4 and the Plex server are on the same layer 2 Vlan, with IP addresses in the same subnets. @Stephen3001 Yes, the PS4 can use skygo, netflix, the PS4 game network, and other internet based Apps.
The PS4 media player app (the sony one), can also browse the shares on the media server - so I am 100% sure its not a connectivity issue
