Hi all,
I just signed up for HBO recently through Spectrum, and based on other posts, I’m worried I can’t play it through Plex. I can get HBO through my Samsung TV, as well as through HDHomeRun. I know the cable card is working just fine. When I scan channels in Plex, the HBOs show as protected. If I pay for them, if there anything I can do?
I’m trying to attach logs, but I’m not sure if they’re useful.

Are channels encrypted with DRM supported?
Channels encrypted or protected with DRM of any kind are not supported. Which channels are encrypted depends on the channel provider. Generally “premium” channels are always encrypted, but again it varies by provider.

Thanks, I figured as much. It’s a bummer that Plex doesn’t distinguish between “Premium channels” and “Premium channels that I can actually access using other means”. Hopefully this will get reconsidered at some point.

I ultimately left spectrum because of their DRM Channel protection. And went to Frontier and haven’t looked back since!
