My friend and I share libraries with each other. We both have and don’t want them to have access to R rated and adult content. So, we take the main account and lock it with a PIN, and create a local account for the kids with child appropriate content. The problem now is that we need to login as the primary account in order to see the shared library, but we don’t want the kids to use the shared library since it has content that is inappropriate for them.
Is there any kind of workaround for this?
Create regular plex.tv accounts for your kids.
Then add these accounts into your Plex Home.
This way you can do what you want to do.
Will my kids then have access to my PlexPass?

Yes, because you add their accounts into your Plex Home.
Can I take an existing managed user account and convert it to a Plex account?

No, this is unfortunately not possible.
You might be able to copy the ‘watched’ status from your managed users to the newly added users with this tool https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/120292/moviefans-database-tool-for-plex/p1#top
(although it only works on Windows, but you can copy the plex database file from other platforms to a Windows workstation, modify the database file and then copy it back. Only copy the database file while Plex server is stopped/ended/disabled!)
I tried to use that tool before and did not have a lot of luck. I think I’ll just manually update the shows. It will take a little bit of time. But it only needs to be done once.
