I think i solved it, some files don't show on plex server?

This is for windows 11, i think there are tools to do the same for other OS

i had some files that were not showing on my servers,
here is what i did

1- open the folder where the “media file” is not showing on your plex server and Rename the “media” file to only contain the name, no number no special characters, no parts, no nothing

2- Right click > Show More > Properties

3- If the “Read Only” is checked, uncheck it and hit apply

4- Go to the “Details” tab

5- Click on the “Remove Properties and Personal Information” link at the buttom

6- a new prop window will show, select “Create a copy with all possible properties removed”

7- Windows will now create a new copy of the “media” file

Now the important part, don’t skip the order of the following steps

8- Close all properties windows you have open

9- DO NOT rename the new file leave it with the “- Copy” in the name and DO NOT delete the old file

11- Go to your plex server library and run a folder scan

12- The media will appear but will not be matched and the name will be the same as the file

13- Click on the “three dots” to bring the option menu and click “Match”

14- Use the “Search” link at the top to search for the correct match of your media file

15- If all gone well, you can now go to the folder and delete the old version, but DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE NEW COPY

That sounds awfully complicated.
Properly organizing and naming the files will usually do the trick… in case you had been renaming a file back-and-forth, a Plex Dance can help resolve getting any mix-up fixed.

If embedded metadata is messing up the matching and you don’t rely on it elsewhere, simply disable the preference to prefer embedded/local metadata in the advanced library settings.

believe me, i had 2 files not showing from a collection of about 200+ files
i tried every naming method known to humankind
nothing worked but this

That was 1’st step for me, didn’t work too
