I have an Synology 415+ with 4Gb Ram, during playback of some tv series the announcement is made that the server is not strong enough, can i do something about that ? will increasing memory do the trick or do i have to go back to my windows 17 pc as server, and only use the Nas as storage.

If your media is being transcoded, adding more memory/RAM will most likely not fix this for you. For all I can find the NAS‘ CPU simply isn’t fit for transcoding above some medium-bitrate 720p videos (it’s also not capable to support Plex he-accelerated transcoding)
Oke Thnx , so gotta go back to my i7 or buy a Nas , can you tell me a 4 Bay Nas where i don’t have those problems, Synology or Qnap

The DS415+, like my DS1815+, is a nice NAS… period.
Running PMS on it will be the most painful experience ever.
No amount of memory can improve the lack of CPU.
