I want to factory reset my shield without completely losing my Plex Media server database. What's the most painless way to do this?

I’m having some odd issues with my Shield not sleeping properly and Nvidia support have suggested I do a factory reset.

I have a PMS on my Shield with an external SSD drive being using to cache files and I’m wondering if it would be simply a case of reconnecting the drive after the factory reset and the PMS showing up?

Or is this wishful thinking?

Would love to hear the result if you did a factory reset. My shield has suddenly started freezing / being very slow and no amount of updates and restarts is helping.

I would hate to rebuild my library’s Metadata and collections if I don’t have to.

You might be able to actually follow the Nvidia factory reset instructions here to get what you need b/c I don’t believe it’s a true reset:

I was trying to factory reset my Shield to wipe it, and followed the above. Instead it just did a ‘light’ reset and when I rebooted it still had my wifi settings, Plex and Plex server were still installed with my original library settings. I’m actually frustrated by this and am still looking for a way to properly reset the Shield. If anyone finds out how, let me know.
