I'd like to browse library using my folder hierarchy

I am totally new to Plex. I use WD EX2-Ultra and WD EX4100 which used Twonky until the update to OS5. Twonky is gone, so I’m trying Plex. No problem seeing or playing video stored on my NAS, BUT . . . .

I have a very particular file folder hierarchy which I wish to continue using. Twonky allowed me to do that, but it appears Plex does not do that by default.

Is there a way I can browse mp4 files in

Vid Spl – Tom
– Dick
– Harry
etc.

The library displays files in alpha or date or any order I choose, but lumps all together which doesn’t work with my brain since my brain devised and likes the Tom, Dick and Harry hierarchy.

Any suggestions?
TIA
Chuck

It’s not very well supported, but try setting to folder like below.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to use plex metadata, create a misc video library instead of a movie or tv library.

I replicated your display above and noticed that a Folder view is available. That seemed to be what I wanted until I realized that on each drive, I had named the parent folder the same thing. So, the folders from both drives are displayed sort-of mixed together. But this gets me started and I can always rename the parent on drive 1 and drive 2 so they will be different. I’ll try that and maybe it will get me where I want to be.

Thanks very much!!

Plex also has a DLNA server, which is all Twonky is. Just use the same client you used for Twonky.
