I’m a german software developer and I love Plex.
Now, I’ve decided to develop a new plugin, but I want to write a plugin, which people need/want.
Got any ideas?

Plex is very cool, but that is the only lame thing I've found, using plex for 6 months now and very happy :D :D

Sat-1 oder Pro-7 ist nicht schlecht … ich kann Dir auch helfen … habe das RTL und das CT plugin gemacht … habe leider nicht viel zeit …
MTV.de wäre Klasse! Ansonsten wäre ich vor allem für ein funktionierendes Plug-In der ZDF oder ARD Mediathek oder auch für Sat.1/Pro 7.
@rnio: Weder CT noch RTL funktionieren bei mir in letzter Zeit. CT buffert sich zu tode und bei RTL öffnet sich das Plug-In erst gar nicht. Eine Idee woran das liegen könnte?

Ein generelles Plug-in für die Auswahl von Streaming TV (Windows Media, Flash, Vimeo, UStream,Zaplive TV u.a.) und Video on Demand (YouTube u.a.).
Es sollte Rubriken wie “Deutsch” “Englisch” und Unterrubriken wie “Live TV” “Event TV” “TV on Demand” haben.
Der Content Manager sollte es mit einem Namen und einer Kachel z.B. “MeiDingsbumsTV” benennen können und verteilen.
Auf dem Server des Content Managers werden die Bilder, Beschreibungen und URLS zu den Original Streaming oder OnDemand Locations hinterlegt werden.
Andere Textdienste wie RSS feeds anzeigen oder ein elektronischer Programmführer könnten eingebaut werden.
Der Content Manager wärst Du, ich oder jeder andere, der der Welt etwas zu sagen hätte.
Der erste Interessent wäre ich 
Ich habe noch mehr Ideen dazu, bin aber leider kein Programmierer wie Du.

in general, you can take every german tv station, which has an own ‘mediathek’ (like ARD, ZDF, ProSieben, Vox, RTL, …).
A plugin for DVD support is not the kind of plugin, which the Plex Plugin Framework was made for. This framework is for sources, where you have structured data (like HTML) which can be presented as lists to a user (incl. some additional data)
- a ORF Plugin already exists, but I don’t know if it’s still working (see http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/Unsupported_plugins)
- ARD Plugin is currently developed by canbuffi an me, see ( http://github.com/canbuffi/plex-plugin-ardmediathek and http://github.com/barclay-reg/plex-plugin-ardmediathek)
- the general plugin for streaming TV is Plex itself. the most work will be to fill the content manager, most existing plugins are grepping the HTML versions of a tv station and collect all *.flv or *mov files linked on this sites

If you are still interested in developing a plugin for Plex that anyone needs why not programming a scanner that looks for German movies and TV-Series on IMDB.de, OFDB.de and other sources for german plots and posters.
This would be a plugin that ANY German user will use.

I am Austrian as well, but live in San Francisco the last 10 years.
I actually started an ORF TVThek plugin last year, that still works [mostly]. You can get it from [here](http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/ORF_tvthek).
There is a lot(!!) of room for improvement as these were my first steps with Plex plugin development and I might start working on it again, especially if you guys are interested.
In this case we might want to take further discussion off to another topic (in the German speaking forum) ...

Vor allem jetzt, da es ein strukturell einfaches iPAD web-interface existiert
das die Filme als erstklassige HTML5-video/mp4 ausliefert:
