Hello guys,
I was currently updating my server and could see that I am experiencing some type of bug or issue with HW transcoding with my server using quick sync.
It seems that although HA transcoding is working, I am getting 60%-100% CPU usage, which doesn’t make really sense, as you can see here:
But on the other side, what makes me crazy, is that when I log into RDP into the device, that CPU usage seems to drop a lot till something reasonable 20%-30%:
I went to see if it was windows power management issue, or maybe not all cores were assigned to the plex transcoder when RDP was being used, but could not find any issue.
Do you know what might have happened for this to happen?
Also have been searching around, and it seems some people was having issues with RDP crashes 1 month ago on this other thread:
Don’t know how that was fixed, but is plex transcoder service limited somehow in CPU usage when RDP is ongoing?
If thats the case, is there any other way to limit the CPU usage for transcoding when HA is enabled? As to be honest I do not want to kill my server CPU with plex, as I have other services that needs CPU to work correctly.
