I’ve had a Plex Pass for at least a couple years now. There used to be a forum where I could go for technical support, but this site says it no longer exists. Where do I go for help with an issue I’m having?
Your here, just post your query along with some detail like Device model, software Versions, client, OS
Welcome
All of a sudden, a couple of my Plex clients have stopped seeing my content.
My setup:
Plex Media Server: v 1.16.3.1433-359b06978 running on Synology DS418play running DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4
My main screen is my living room screen, running Plex Media Player 3.104.2 running on a Mac mini Mojave 10.14.6. I also have an AppleTV 4th Gen hooked up to this same screen running Plex v 2.18(1). Both the Mac mini and this AppleTV find my sources and play video as expected.
Upstairs, I have another TV with a 3rd Gen AppleTV with Plex, also v 2.18(1). It was working yesterday. Today, when I first started it, it took a long time to load anything and when it did, it only showed me online and web content. Nothing from my NAS. I tried many things which did not fix the problem: logging out/into Plex, restarting the AppleTV, trying to reconnect to the PMS.
I then tried connecting to my server using my iPhone, running Plex 6.12. It also did not see my PMS and only gave me the option to play web content (the “free movies” Plex recently started offering). One thing to note on my iPhone – when I try to find my sources and go to “More”, the NAS server, “On this device” and “Plex” options are all highlighted and they do not respond at all when I tap them.
So that’s my current issue. 4 Plex devices, half of them suddenly stopped working today.
Update your Plex Media Server (latest public release is version 1.19.3). Afterwards you might need to reboot the NAS.
That did the trick. Working now!
Thanks so much!
