I'm at my wit's end . Why can't I watch an entire Dodgers game withour significan issues from Plex?

I have not been able to watch an entire Dodgers game on plex this season. WTF is the problem? I paid for a lifetime membership and I have not been able to want ONE entire Dodgers game in its entiretey this year. Get your ■■■■ together. I paid my money so I can watch every single Dodgers game. The Plex server has made it impossible to watch one entire game. LET ME RECORD ONE STATION FOR MULTIPLE HOURS so I can manually set up Plex to watch a baseball game. Did the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks on July 31? I’lll never know because Plex wont let me record station 789 for mulitple hours . Anyone, please let me know how the game ended. I’m in a Plex vacuum and can’t get out.

Let me record channel 789 for 12 hours straight. I have missed my FOURTH dodger game because the engineers at Plex won’t let me record one channel for multiple hours. Now for the FOURTH game in a row I don’t know how the Dodgers played because I can’t watch an entire game without interruption. PLEASE LET ME RECORD ONE STATION FOR A SPECIFIC TIME PERIOD.
I’m at the point where I’m going to cancel my subscription to Plex because I can’t watch an entire Dodgers game at one time. Get your sh*t together so I can watch one channel for multiple hours without interruption! I’m paying big money to my cable provider so I can watch Dodger games and you’re f#cking it up. Get with the program and make this process work.

I took the liberty to merge your two posts as this adds a bit more context.
In case you’re looking for a fix/solution… mind sharing some more details on your setup (what tuner are you using, what version of Plex Media Server are you running and what WD model is it installed on…)?

Running HD Homerun Prime with three tuners on WD PR4100 server with Plex server version 1.19.5.3112. Player version is 4.29.2 on Win7 and MacOS Catalina.

The issue is that there is no way in Plex to record a channel without selecting a show. What I need to do is start recording a channel at a point in time and continue to record it for as long as i want. In theory if I wanted to I should be able to record one channel until I run out of storage space. The way it works now is that I MUST pick a show to record and MUST specify a duration for the recording. Remember how old VCR’s worked? Just press record and it mindlessly records the station it’s on until it runs out of tape. That’s what I want to do.

My current workaround is to look at the guide and set up all of the shows after the scheduled end of the ball game broadcast and then go hunt for those additional recordings as needed. It’s a pain in the butt because I have to go look at the episode view for my recordings and sort it based on date/time added. I tried adding 3+ hours to the ballgame recording, which does work, but I can’t stop the recording once it’s started without cancelling the entire recording, including future recordings. Then I have to wait until the recording is completed before I can watch it. Watching a show while it’s being recorded is an exercise in frustration because the fast forward functionality is useless. Half the time when I fast forward the recording gets rewound to the beginning, then I have to figure out where I was in the recording and try to get back to that position.

There’s a feature suggestion to allow manual recordings

Thanks. That will help.

But the second part of my problem is that it’s impossible to end a recording early without deleting all future recordings. Can it be set up to just end the current recording? Otherwise I have to wait until the currently airing episode is over before setting up the series again, assuming I remember to go back to do it.
