PMS crashes shortly after adding media

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Not really applicable
Logs are available to be DM’ed upon request to those that want to look to help troubleshoot.

[EDIT: See update at bottom of post]

I am pretty sure that I narrowed this down to happening shortly after adding media, be it a couple individual episodes or new series (I do not add movies quite as often so I do not know if those cause the same issue). One thing I am not certain of is that I have not only added one episode and then seen if this crash happens, so I do not know if there is a minimum number of episodes that need to be added.

I use Tautulli for a richer play history and that is how I generally first notice that this crash occurs.
From the Tautulli log, I start seeing the following messages:

WARNING: Unable to retrieve data for get_activity.
ERROR: Failed to access uri endpoint /status/sessions. Request timed out: HTTPConnectionPool(host='192.168.1.49', port=32400): Read timed out. (read timeout=60)
WARNING: Tautulli Pmsconnect :: Unable to parse XML for get_current_activity: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'getElementsByTagName'.

And they continue over and over until either the server is restarted or PMS might eventually recover itself, not 100% sure on that.
The other thing is that there had been instances where a restart did not seem to help so I ended up running @ChuckPa’s DB repair and then after that Plex worked properly until the next time I added media (again, specifically TV shows that I am aware of at this time).

I saw this thread, I'm finding Plex server stopped every day - #62 by Joefr_Plex, and looked at it and noticed that it appeared the issue there was related to the intro detection (not sure if it was in general or only during the scheduled tasks). Because of that thread, even though I am generally on the latest version within a week of it coming out, I decided to turn that option off completely hoping that the crashing would stop.
Unfortunately, it did not help as when I added a new series to my anime library tonight, the crash ended up happening. So I guess the good news is that the intro detection more than likely is not the culprit since it was off.

I do have video preview thumbnails, credits video markers and chapter thumbnails enabled. I have not tried turning them off to see if the issue occurs or not. I will do that after I try a quick test of adding just one episode when I have something available (probably on 11/6/2023). I will then give it a bit of time to see if the server crashes to see if even just adding one episode impacts it.

Based on the result from that, I will then disable all 3 of those options and, depending on the result of adding one episodes triggers the crash, will add enough episodes that would hopefully be enough to trigger it again (if it will happen).

I believe this has been going on for about 1-2 months now and after seeing the above mentioned thread, I was hoping intro detection would have been the cause. Since it does not seem to be, I figured I should open a thread.

As I have only recently seemed to start narrowing it down to when it occurs, I do not have much else to add. I know I probably did not give all that much info in this initial post, so if anybody has any ideas/suggestions on what to check let me know.

I will post an update after I try what I mentioned 4 paragraphs up. I do have 2 log files, 1 from after the new media was added but before the crash occurred and the 2nd from after I restarted the Plex container so that I could access the server again and also download the logs. If you want to take a look at the logs, either send me a DM and I will respond with them attached or add a comment here to let me know to DM them to you.

Thanks for any help to try and resolve this as Plex was super stable (as far as I was noticing) until this started happening.

Edit 2023-11-17

I did not turn off the other options as mentioned but did update the Plex container (as there was an update from Linuxserver.io whose image I use). After doing that, I monitored adding media and Plex stayed up. I then decided to re-enable the intro detection and I have added new episodes almost every day since and have not had an issue, so I am going to consider this issue resolved.
