I’m new to plex. I have it on my 2012 iMac. it was loading library. I checked this morning, and it says it can’t connect to server. all I did this morning was try to set the app on roku tv.
I noticed when I signed in on the app it says I have more than one server. in the drop down list I only see one server. what should be next step? I’m using Mac (Catalina)

The initial setup can be rough. While I don’t have an immediate solution to what may have occurred because it’s complicated and the info you provided is basic, I can give a few pointers that might help.
- on the Plex website, scroll to the bottom and click Articles. That’s the user manual.
- There are three types of Sign In that are interrelated:
- The website plex.tv login.
- The Plex Web App login.
- The claiming of the server
- When doing setup related issues, I make sure I’m signed into the website, and not just the app.
- When first setting up PMS, you open a non-secure web page in a web browser with
http://ip.addr.of.pms:32400/webbecause claiming can only happen that way. - Problems getting that far can lead to duplicate PMS server or you being locked out of yours.
- If you search these forums for Incognito Mode, you’ll come across posts by ChuckPA that deal with fixing multiple servers in your PMS settings and claiming.
