I'm unclear about Sonic Sage and Open AI

I’m not clear on how Sonic Sage and this Open AI integration works. First, is there an article explaining it? I only found something from “howtohifi”.

I’ve gotten as far as pasting the API and now it says I’m out of credits. Then I started searching the forums which seem to indicate this is for Tidal only, or works best with Tidal (not something mentioned at all in the Sonic Sage setup).

With Tidal integration going away, and the fact that I don’t have Tidal, I’m unclear if Sonic Sage works with a personal library.

I’ve already spent an hour trying to get this set up and troubleshooting it. It seems like I need to pay Open AI at least $5 to get this started. Before I give them my credit card information (on top of my cell number - I hate this so much), can someone let me know if this is a feature I’ll find useful without a Tidal subscription? If I type in a complex prompt like two hours of jazz and r&b music for a weekend drive through the woods, will I get a legit playlist?

This article seems to sum things up pretty well.

I wouldn’t shell out any money without some enhancements to how it works with a personal library. Based on my limited experience it has problems mapping results to actual media in the personal library and tends to report that tracks are unavailable even if there are in your library. Playlists tend to be short or empty in most cases without Tidal. I would wait to see exactly what enhancements Plex does with the feature considering as you mentioned Tidal integration is going away before investing any money.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll keep away for now.

That’s the article I mentioned in my post. I’m a little confused how a random website has this information while the website/forum where this software comes from does not.
