Server Version#:4.76.1
Player Version#: Plex for LG/Client 5.35.2/Platform 5.3.2
For the last few weeks, movie files on Plex for LG 75UN8000PUB have been having a problem where the image slightly breaks up in places. The same files look fine on computer and on Plex for web browser, but on the LG TV the image breaks up and always in the same places, as if the file were corrupt, but when I see the file on the computer or on web browser, they look fine. Has only started happening in the last month or so.
Your connection to your TV is it WiFi? If not check while playing a Movie if it is transcoding and report back with your findings.
Tv is connected via ethernet and the movies are playing directly from home server. No transcoding. It didn’t happen before, has been happening for the last month or so.
That’s odd, I have LG 65 OLEDB8STB with no issues noticed. But mentioning that a while ago avi files would at times break up. So to challenge my curiosity, I changed the container to mkv in MKVToolNix using Multiplexing and the problem disappeared. It doesn’t take long and resolved my problem.
Most of my files are in mkv. I’ve had plex for almost two years and it’s never done that till about a month ago but it’s happening more and more.
What version of PMS are you using at present? What you have mentioned is Web Version.
Installed version is 1.25.9.5721-7000
I would try Analyze your files again or a individual File you know plays up.
Will do, but the odd thing the same movie files look fine on computer, whether playing the file directly from server or through plex for web. It only happens on the LGTV.
Yes I agree, it sounds like it’s the LG ability to play those files. It may well be the audio side. Last resort would be to try, reset Plex and LG TV.
Will try that because hitting Analyze did nothing. It’s definitely something with the LG Plex app.
It could well be, the processors in our TV are different and may react to Plex Client changes differently.
