IMDB title identifiers as an alternative to information from Agents

I have some Hammer House of Horror films. One is 1 hour 10 mins long titled ‘Black Carrion’. I have it in my movies folder but cannot download the information for it as IMDB has it listed as a TV series episode. I could move it to my TV shows folder but I only have a few episodes and would rather treat them as films.

It would be great if the fix match dialogue box had a field where you could enter the unique IMDB identifier to grab the info this way instead. ie for Black Carrion the code is tt0086970.

You can already do that – however Plex won’t allow you to mix different media types (e.g. matching tv-episode metadata into a movie-type library).

Saying Plex wont allow you to do that may be correct, but I’m asking for it to be possible in future.

Where do you enter the IMDB code?

You can include the IMDb ID in your folder names → https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files/#toc-0

Alternatively use the IMDb ID as the search term in the fix match dialog (or TMDb/TVDb IDs… however those will require a tmdb- or tvdb- prefix respectively) → see “Tips” in https://support.plex.tv/articles/201018497-fix-match-match/

So… if your request is to allow mixed content libraries, I recommend you comment/vote in the existing feature suggestion on this matter in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes and attention.
