One of the new features in android marshmallow is that you can now adopt your SD card as internal storage. However by doing that you can only write files to the partition where you’re installed on.
The big problem is that you can only install apps on the “adoptable storage” sd card if the app allows to be moved to SD card, which plex does not allow: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/install-location.html
Please allow the app to be installed on the SD card to greatly improve the usability on android marshmallow!
Another vote/like here. I was really disappointed to see that Plex isn’t playing nicely with adoptable storage. Is the problem and solution well known? I saw others speculate that Plex didnt setandroid:installLocation correctly in the manifest, but I’ll note that I can move Plex to an adopted SD card after install. The problem is that every time I do that I lose all my synced files. And I have to do that every time I update the Plex app.
Thank you MatzeAnt for sharing the fix with the Plex Developers! I’m shocked that they haven’t been able to figure out how to correct this problem after all this time or haven’t cared to fix this for their Android customers. I hope the developers are listening!!
