I’ve using Plexamp on my android phone. I’ve recently switched my SD card from external storage to adoptable storage. For some reason, Plexamp cannot be moved to external storage anymore so that all my downloads are going to internal storage (whereas Plex is still able to move to external and have all downloads go to the sd card). Any ideas?
as long as your SD card is formatted as external storage, you’ll be able to select it in Settings > Downloads > Download Location
What if you use adoptable storage? For Plex, there’s an option to move to external, however not for plexamp.
i’m not sure i know what “adoptable” storage means
Adoptable storage is when you use a regular microSD card and have it act as if it were internal (non-removable) storage on your phone.
It’s a standard option on Android builds now.
I assume if it acts as internal storage, it appears to apps as “internal storage”.
You still have to move the app to external storage. Under normal circumstances, you cannot install apps on sd card unless you format it as adoptable storage. Once you do this, you can move apps to the SD card.
Same thing with Plex. Originally it could only save sync to internal. After I moved to external, I had access to the SD card.
Plexamp doesn’t have this option in my system storage settings.
any idea why that would be? i’m not an android genius.
ah i think i found it
To allow the system to install your application on the external storage, modify your manifest file to include the android:installLocation attribute in the <manifest> element, with a value of either "preferExternal" or "auto
we’ll include this in the next release.
This is so awesome!
