[Implemented] Feature Request - Watchlist

Bumping. You guys have time to add HDR transcoding features then this should be an easy QOL add.

Just another +1; I was coming to this forum to request this feature! Six years and counting, so I suppose I shouldn’t hold my breath.

It was promised to arrive to personal media here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/watchlists/ but no ETA. A little update from a dev would be nice.

Yeah I’ve seen hints from devs on Reddit. But no firm ETA’s

Bump. Me too post.

I use FireTV on all my TV’s with the Plex app installed. Setting up a playlist called “Watchlist” is okay, but on the FireTV when you access the playlist, you don’t see the movie posters or have the ability to play the trailers. Also, on FireTV can add entries to a playlist, but you can’t remove entries.

I have used the Tags / Collections, and added to “watchlist”. This gives a much better presentation in my living room. The problem is I have to return to my computer to add or subtract from the “watchlist”. Also, adding and removing items is a bit painful, and there is no visibility when looking at a movie whether it is included in the watchlist collection.

The one thing that would make the WATCHLIST work a whole lot nicer is if you can use the same sort and selection features as the LIBRARY.

If you watxh the plex movies & tv shows there is a watxhlist now on there
which is the first step of getting it throughout plex! This feature would be awesome to use with personal libraries!

This is the main thing I miss from Mediaportal

Bumping again. Would any of the devs give some insight on why it’s taking so long to get this feature?

+1 for me as well. A watchlist that I could access and add to from any interface (iOS, Samsung/Tizen, web player, etc), would be a major upgrade to my user experience.

I appreciate all the work the devs have put into other functions such as “Watch Together” (though it doesn’t work via Tizen), but I feel like a playlist function should be fairly simple to implement, and, at least based on this thread and some posts on Reddit, something a lot of users would really appreciate.

Is this request the same as the watchlist featured on the plex free movies/tv shows section?

I would love this feature to be on our own libraries too. I got thousands of movie and tv shows and forgetting which movie to watch. This feature would be awesome if it is added.

I dont understand why plex doesnt have this feature originally in their platform. Netflix has this feature: My List.

I hope plex devs implement this feature natively in our self running server plex libraries not only in the plex free movies/tvshows section soon.

+1
Really don’t know why this is only available on the “Free Movies/TV Shows”, seems incredibly easy to implement on our own libraries.

I too would love to see a watchlist option. Bumping in hopes it may happen.

TV agent came out of beta a few days ago. We’ll probably have a Watchlist in the foreseeable future.

Would love it if this could be built with filters too. Maybe I want one watchlist of all movies after 1990 from my animated collection and another that’s all horror movies. I suppose that kind of bleeds in to smart playlist territory, but I feel like it’s subtly different

Something I noticed in the watchlist for Plex Movies & Shows is that if you watch a single episode of a show, the entire show will be removed from the Watchlist.

I think the Watchlist should be 100% user controlled for adding and then removing shows. No automatic removing of shows or movies after watching. That way if they want to keep shows in there for reference or whatever, it will be there.

That definitely seems like something a Smart Category can probably do. The exception being it won’t span across movie and TV library types.

Any news on this feature being in our “own” Plex Libraries?

As my collection is growing would love to see in-house option for Watchlist to keep track of things on the fly.

I have no ETA but it is something our product and engineering teams are actively reviewing this and how to get it integrated with personal server library content.

I would like this feature to be FINALLY in Plex for personal libraries and that it creates a tab in the menu
this is integrated in the public version of Plex why PlexPass go last again ???
