Yes! Coordinating the posters, descriptions and other metadata to what’s on your server is my number 1 wish for the Universal Watchlist. Actually, I find myself not using the new Watchlist much at all because most of what I add to it ends up looking so different than what’s on my server.
I wrote something about this a few weeks ago in another thread:
I would like to give some feedback about the Universal Watchlist.
I think the general idea behind the watchlist is great, but when I add content that’s also present in my local libraries, the fact that it doesn’t respect the carefully curated posters/backgrounds/metadata of these items is very jarring.
Right now, each time there’s an item added to the watchlist it becomes a representation of what’s on https://watch.plex.tv . I think it would be much better if after detecting that a particular item is also present in a local library it would respect how this local item is displayed.
Specifically, I’m talking about matching:
Poster
Background
Title
Studio
Summary
Directors
Writers
Genre
I find that I would use the watchlist a lot more if the items in there would be displayed the same way they are in my local libraries. Because right now, the visual clash that happens with the items I add to the Watchlist doesn’t really make me want to use it much.
Does it make sense?
Would it be appropriate to create a feature request about that?
