The Plex-System could be THE Solution for all us music-lovers with big collections but without gapless audio totally useless. I just payed for the PlexPass but now will stop it again. No chance with gaps during concerts and mixes. Totally frustrated!
This Feature Request has been open for over 4 years! Iām a recent convert to Plex (and have paid for a lifetime subscription) for the TV and Movie handling through an Amazon Fire TV streaming from my home computer. I was previously using an Apple TV (3rd generation). Iām listening to Jean-Michel Jarre as I type this and with a 2 to 3 second gap between tracks itās sooooooooo annoying. I could understand a Feature Request for the option to add gaps, but to have gapless playback should be default. This is a no brainer for anyone who listens to music. I canāt see how anyone at Plex can justify this not being addressed, especially after over 4 years. I can only assume that none of the Plex developers actually use Plex for listening to music. I have a computer science degree in software engineering and have over 30 years software development experience. Chuck us the code guys and Iāll sort it out for you. Gratis.
Unless there is some indication from Plex soon about this being resolved, I will be resigned to having to go back to my Apple TV for music. Also, I wonāt be purchasing any additional Plex Passes for my kids, Iāll get them an iPod instead!
Plex Media Player is using mpv for the media player now and mpv supports gapless! Give us the option!

+1 for me! This option will be very appreciated once implemented. Looking forward to use it. Thank PLEX team
Apparently, itās being worked on.
Thatās great news
+1 to this
+1 from me too. Of all of the HTPC software packages that I have ever used, this is the only one that does not support it.

A necessary change that has been missing for too long.
Basic feature which should not be missing. Forget about all the other fancy premium music stuff.

Need gapless audio

Please add gapless playback in Plex Web and the Android app!
This is the most important feature that is lacking in Plex IMO. Many albums and all of my split live mixes must be played with gapless playback.
Edit: This feature was first requested in 2012?? Plex, what are you doing? I donāt want to move to the competition, but as a music player this feature is a necessity.
Actually, on iOS, it works if you use ALAC or AAC, from what Iāve tested with a few gapless albums (non-stop mixes).
does it work if use flac? ⦠cause PMS transcode thise to aac when streaming to ios ⦠so theoretically ios receives aac when playing flac
+1 and also quality control

Iām running the server on Linux and have Android apps and there is no gapless playback. This should be marked as a bug and not a feature request since Plex is not playing the music correctly.
This thread started in December 2012 and yet apparently nothing has been done; is there a reason why this bug hasnāt been fixed? Would anyone from Plex like to comment?Gapless playback is simply not supported natively on Android. AFAIK there are only a few music players that support it on Android.
At the moment you will get it on PHT (Plex Home Theater)
Spotify and deezer both do it on android, so does Amazon.

Pretty please ā¦
