Another vote (and first post “like”) for gapless audio on Plex/Web. It’s the main way I listen to music in Plex.
The mini-gap still present for me in iOS, but it’s a lot better than before. I’m glad they are still working on it.

Yes. Please make GAPLESS PLAYBACK a top priority. This missing feature is the only thing separating Plex from greatness.
@mcgeeme : I can make you happy: use rasplex and you will find a perfectly gapless playback on the raspberry thing.
have fun!

Is there any option to pre-fetch the next track on a client to do this? On almost none of them? Ugh… I don’t normally have a Raspberry Pi with me in my car to play my music, but I do have my smartphone.

You don’t ??? You must be kidding! I think at amazon they sell some good 12v-> 5v adapters
The rasplex project looks a little dead (no updates for the last year and the supplied images wont boot on a pi 3 as they appear to be missing the new device tree) is that really a viable solution, I was almost convinced to give it a go before I noticed that ?
we need gapless support for all players, again this is another plexpass user rethinking their solution

There has been 5 Rasplex releases in the past 12 months, far from dead I think! Last release on 1st March was the first release for the RPi3, which was only released the day before. In addition the same team has also released 3 versions of OpenPHT (the replacement for Plex HT).
Where do you get your information from, try looking here https://forums.plex.tv/categories/rasplex before making very ill informed posts.
Plex Inc seem to be incapable of implementing gapless playback on any of their official clients.

This should be default for every music player nowadays…

I’m sorry you are right I was ill informed. I got my information from the rasplex sourceforge page which obviously falls into the 90% rule in your sig, despite being linked to from rasplex.com in at least 15 places, including the manual installation instructions here
Don’t know where you found that link but it’s way out of date and loads something that’s probably been cached on a server for years.
Current site has nothing that links to SourceForge, rasplex.com.

Allowing a user defined Syncing folder that preserved file/folder structure on the user’s device so we could would at least enable this feature by using our choice of players (like Poweramp). A similar feature is used for video, I don’t see why we couldn’t have it for audio just as easy.

Unlike the “current” site where that page 404’s if you follow it from the menu
Hence me googling for it and finding that page (which is still online and being indexed). Fact of the matter is, if the sourceforge repos are stale then the history should be migrated and they should be taken offline or there should be a notice up redirecting people, the old site should also be taken offline. Those things would have prevented my very ill informed post.
Anyway arguing about this is a distraction…the good news is I can try this on my Rpi and see if it fixes my issue with gapless in the living room at least, just need to figure out how to get my harmony remote to drive it (preferably over Bluetooth)

GAPLESS PLAYBACK seems to be available at some Clients … I currently testet it with the PLEX Client on IOS, it works.
In the PLEX WEB CLIENT it DOESN’T WORK
In The PLEX HOME THEATER, running on my MAC BOOK (OS X) it DOESN’T work …
I don’t really understand, why it ist not possible in PLEX to have the basic “GAPLESS PLAYBACK” feature available on each platform …
I hope, that in the really near future this feature will be available on (nearly) all Clients. Currently I can not recommend PLEX as a Media Server for the personal music collection
And I am a little bit angry about myself, to bought the PLEX PASS, as I tested this feature only on my iPhone …

Switch to OpenPHT (as Plex Inc has abandoned PHT, https://forums.plex.tv/categories/openpht)

Only on official clients, all of the unofficial clients support gapless playback, OpenPHT, Rasplex, etc.

Use one of the unofficial clients.

Gapless Playback doesn’t work on the iOS client. Just do the DSOTM test transition from track 1 to 2.
Still not fixed in 4.1 that just released today.
This is another of the many threads on this support form which has run on for many years, yet received exactly zero responses from the developers. It would be nice (considering many people are paying for this product) to have some indication that the devs have seen this issue and are working on it. Reading through this thread as it is I see a lot of people clamoring for this feature with no response from PLEX.
It does feel as if we’ve been abandoned, doesn’t it?
If said this before, but it would be acceptable (even preferred) if they just synced the user’s music files using their preferred location / format so we could use our own choice of players that do feature gapless playback. Pass off their issue to a third party app. They do it with video, why not audio?
Maybe we have to vote for gapless support first?

That’s simply not possible in iOS. Android sure.
